Abstract
Dogs were digitalized to cardiac toxicity with ouabain (0.07 or 0.08 mg./kg.) or with digitoxin (0.3 mg./kg.). Ten such dogs were anesthetized with cyclopropane. This improved or abolished the arrhythmias due to the digitalis, which returned on recovery from anesthesia. Ten were anesthetized with ether, which likewise reverted arrhythmic hearts to normal rhythm. Ten were anesthetized with pentothal Na. The arrhythmias in this group were not altered by the anesthesia. Keywords
