Abstract
The absorption of monochromatic x-rays as a function of the wave-length has been measured for gaseous krypton, bromine and hydrogen bromide in the region of the absorption edges. The data were taken with a double crystal spectrometer with a G-M counter to measure the x-ray intensities. The structure for krypton is considerably different from that previously obtained for argon. The data for and HBr are of sufficient accuracy so that they may be used to check the Kronig-Petersen theory quantitatively.
