Abstract
The automated perimeter presents new challenges to clinicians comfortable with the use of the Goldmann perimeter in neuro-ophthalmic diagnosis. An understanding of the basic differences between kinetic and static threshold perimetry, an intelligent choice of automated test programs, and an interpretive strategy focusing on the vertical meridian will result in optimal use of this important technological advance. Keywords
