Abstract
A method of re-establishing epithelial communication in impaired lachrymal drainage is described. The basic principle is the same as the Denis Browne operation for hypospadias. An epithelial bridge constituted by a conjunctivap flap meeting a flap of nasal mucosa is tormed and by proliferation from edges and spontaneous tubing a fistula is created between the conjunctival sack and the nasal cavity or the lachrymal sack if present. 10 cases are presented. The result is satisfactory in 7 cases. In I case the condition has improved, although normal drainage has not been achieved. The operation was a failure in 1 case. Keywords
