Abstract
An unusual case of pulmonary infection with Allescheria boydii is reported. The fungus occupied a benign bronchogenic cyst and produced intermittent hemoptysis for a period of 9 yr. Excision was performed after cytologic studies of sputum showed changes thought to be diagnostic of carcinoma, but in retrospect the cytologic changes were probably due to the chronic Allescheria infection. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
