Abstract
We present a simple method for estimation of phase noise effects in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. After presenting the general analysis, we apply the derived solution to a locally linearized phase error model. The dependency of the phase noise effects on the OFDM symbol length is derived and the results are confirmed by simulation. Also a performance bound for ideal common carrier phase error compensation is derived and verifiedKeywords
