Abstract
The nature of the hexagonal- to -orthorhombic transformations is discussed for substances related to K2SO4. The first order character of these order-disorder transitions is confirmed by optical measurements. The dielectric behaviour above and below the ferroelectric lock-in transformation is investigated on Rb2ZnCl4 to illustrate the contributions of domain-like structures to hysteresis-phenomena and to dielectric permittivity. Keywords
