Abstract
This experiment attempted to clarify the effects of the cues of duration and intensity of the vocalic element under conditions of acoustic stress (S/N ratio). Graphic recordings of the vocalic elements were used to determine intensity and duration ratios. The results show that duration and intensity are both used as cues under conditions of acoustic stress and that under high levels of acoustic stress intensity is a more effective cue than duration. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
