Abstract
We describe the layout and expected performance of the soft X-ray spectroscopy beamline, which is currently being installed at the 35 pole undulator on the X-ray ring at NSLS Brookhaven. We present our rationale for the choice of monochromator and discuss some of the experimental program planned for this new high resolution instrument. Keywords
