A study of the partition of copper in pig slurry and the effect of substrate copper content on the growth of Leptomitus lacteus

Abstract
Samples of pig slurry were fractionated into solid and liquid fractions and analysed for copper using atomic absorption spectrophotometry. The analyses showed that the copper present was associated almost entirely with the solid fractions. The effects of storage temperature on the partition of copper between the groups of slurry fractions were investigated and a study of the effects of different concentrations of copper on the growth of the fungus Leptomitus lacteus was made.
