Abstract
Molds (160) were grown in liquid media, filtrates prepared and solid material precipitated by addition of 2 volumes of alcohol. Such precipitates containing traces of nitrogen, sugars and salts were able to lyse clots of human plasma and plates of human and bovine heated and unheated fibrin plates. Among 160 molds studied, 4 presented such activity. An additional 3 presented a clarifying effect. Both phenomena were inhibited by the addition of serum. At least one extract showed substrate specificity being much more active on human fibrin than on bovine fibrin, egg albumin, casein and hemoglobin in this order. Keywords
