Abstract
Intraepidermal dendritic cells react with the monoclonal antibody, anti-T6, which also reacts with a majority of cortical thymocytes but not with mature T lymphocytes. Application of a 4 step peroxidase antiperoxidase technique and immune-EM to normal human epidermis demonstrates that T6 antigen is present on the cell surface of Langerhans cells (possibly important in the induction of cutaneous contact hypersensitivity) but not on keratinocytes or melanocytes. Thus, the T6 antigen is evidently an important marker for Langerhans cells. This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
