Abstract
The initiation of clotting at sites of vascular injury involves the adhesion of platelets to von Willebrand factor (VWF) via the surface glycoprotein GPIba. In a Perspective, Sadler discusses a new structural analysis ( Huizinga et al.) that sheds light on how platelet GPIba interacts with VWF.Keywords
