Magnetic anisotropy in the critical region of iron found by neutron polarization-vector analysis

Abstract
The three-dimensional change in polarization vector of a polarized neutron beam after transmission through a single-crystal iron disk has been studied at various magnetic fields up to 2600 A/m. The field has been applied in the [100], [110], and [111] crystal directions successively. From the data the presence of a field-induced magnetic anisotropy beyond the Curie temperature has been deduced.
