Abstract
The azo dye methods utilizing substituted napthols as substrates produce artifacts in nervous tissue due to the lipid solubility of the naphthols and the lack of naphthols and the lack of naphthol binding by nervous tissue proteins. The implications of this are discussed. Keywords
