Dipole models in diffractive deep inelastic scattering

Abstract
We analyse the diffractive deep inelastic scattering data from the DESY collider HERA with the help of the dipole models. We find good agreement with the data on the diffractive structure functions, although the description in the region of large diffractive mass (small values of beta) needs some refinement. We also analyse the diffractive open charm production.
