Normal Cerebrospinal Fluid Values

Abstract
In Reply.— When the CSF findings from a large series of children with acute bacterial meningitis are analyzed, a small number will be found to contain few or no cells. Cory's analysis has looked at this in another way, namely, that, of all children with minimal pleocytosis, only a very few—or none—will have meningitis. Some will, however, and it is also important to recognize this. We did note in our article that bacteria may be present in otherwise normal CSF (our references 16 to 20).
