Abstract
The maize weevil, Sitophilus zeamaize Motschulsky, was found to displace the Angoumois grain moth, Sitotroga cerealella (Olivier), in stored corn in south Mississippi. Temperature was the physical barrier that limited the northward spread of the maize weeil. The Angoumois grain moth therefore flourished in north Mississippi because it was tolerant of lower temperatures. Keywords
