Abstract
It is shown that newly measured, large angle, differential cross sections for 40 keV electrons and molecular gases can be brought in very good agreement with theory. However, the calculations have to be corrected for the center of mass conversions in the inelastic channel and for the exchange in the elastic and inelastic scattering process. This result advances the reliability in the matching of our relative data to the theory. The corrections do not alter the small angle data which are used for studies of atomic correlation and binding effects.
