Abstract
An attempt has been made to correlate several data on this system by a statistical calculation of the equilibrium constants in the temperature range of 400 to 700°C. The data are in good agreement but the calculated values of the K's are smaller than the experimental by a factor of two. It is thought that the principal reason for this discrepancy lies in the calculation of the entropy of free rotation in ethane, although other factors may contribute. Keywords
