Abstract
High‐speed photography has been used to distinguish between the possible S=1 bubble states. Transient photographs show that one of the states has two slow wall sections, each of which contains one member of a pair of opposite‐winding vertical Bloch lines. The two unichiral states are detectable because of the characteristically slow velocity of a wall whose center spin is opposed to an applied in‐plane field. It is confirmed that bubbles containing a pair of opposite‐winding VBL’s automote when subjected to bias field pulsing and a constant in‐plane field. Under certain pulse conditions, unichiral bubbles are shown to automote. The stability of each of the possible S=1 states with respect to the pulse amplitude and width is investigated. This publication has 11 references indexed in Scilit:
