Abstract
Suppurating submandibular lymphadenitis in an otherwise healthy infant was caused by Mycobacterium haemophilum, a fastidious organism which requires media supplemented with ferric ammonium citrate or haemoglobin for its growth. It is recommended that material from superficial lesions and lymph nodes collected for myco‐bacteriological investigations be cultured on media known to support growth of M. haemophilum. Keywords
