Abstract
The reachable states of distributed parameter systems where the magnitude of the control energy is constrained are found. The systems considered are described by linear partial differential equations on a bounded domain. The controls may be either distributed or at the boundary and are required to satisfy a constraint in the magnitude of their norm. The results are then used to find conditions for null controllability. Keywords
