Spontaneous Field Reversal in Theta Pinches

Abstract
A model is proposed to account for spontaneous magnetic field reversal which is observed in high temperature θ-pinch plasmas early in the compression phase. The model assumes a large anomalous viscosity in the electron cloud and collisionless ion behavior.Keywords
