Osteomyelitis of the Patella

Abstract
Osteomyelitis of the patella should be among the differential diag noses when a child presents with an acute or subacute cellulitis of the anterior knee or with a persistent effusion of the knee. This is the first case report of a child with acute osteomyelitis of the patella due to Pseudomonas aeruginosa. One adult and two children are known to have had generalized convulsions during or following intra venous gentamicin therapy for a Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection.
