Abstract
Summary A conventional trend surface is symmetrically placed between the observed values of a dependent variable. The proposed median surface is symmetrically placed between the ranks of the observed values. The use of a median surface is illustrated by its application to the distribution of silver in a granodiorite stock. Keywords
