Abstract
One niche for image processing is in the attenuation of image artifacts, especially those resulting from surface coil use. An algorithm is introduced which successfully reduces surface coil artifacts while maintaining useful image information. The artifact-suppression procedure has been tested on images from both breast and spine coils. The corrected images exhibit improvement in tissue class statistics. Keywords
