Abstract
The effect of impurities on the P1 peak in copper is not only to increase its height but also to cause some shift in peak temperature. This shift is caused by a change in frequency factors and not the activation energy. The peak width shows that there is not a unique relaxation time, and from the application of a log normal distribution function the broadness of the peak is caused by a distribution in both frequency factors and activation energies. Keywords
