Abstract
The antiscorbutic activity decreases in the following varieties in the order named: (1) Bramley''s Seedlings, (2) Lane''s Prince Albert, (3) Cox''s Orange Pippin and Newton Wonder. Bramley''s Seedlings frozen at[long dash]20[degree] and stored at this temperature for months did not lose activity to any marked degree, and when stored at 3[degree] in air for five months lost none. The concentration of vitamin C in the tissue of the apple decreases as the core is approached from the skin. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
