Abstract
Glass ceramics are known that are transparent and colorless and have very low thermal expansions. Experiments are described to modify such glass ceramics by introduction of oxides of high atomic weight. Glass ceramics containing relatively large amounts of La 2O3 are promising as X-ray opaque filler materials with nearly zero thermal expansion. Keywords
