Abstract
The broad‐line proton magnetic resonance spectra of polycrystalline samples of the compound formulated empirically as β‐UO3H2O have been examined in the temperature range 77°—370°K. Analysis of the spectrum at 77°K shows that the compound is uranyl hydroxide UO2(OH)2. The interrelationships between the different phases in the uranium‐trioxide—water system which involve the β‐modifications of the ``uranium trioxide hydrates'' are discussed. Keywords
