Abstract
Hyper Raman scattering in crystals with an inversion centre is investigated using polariton theory. I n the Hamiltonian of a crystal, terms are taken into account, which are responsible for the intermolecular, kinematic interactions and the interaction of charges with the transverse photon field. The explicit form of the hyper Raman scattering tensor is calculated. For groups with an inversion centre the way of identification of the contribution of the intermolecular interaction to this effect is shown. Keywords
