Abstract
The general form of the coincidence cross section for electroproduction of nucleon resonances is reviewed and discussed using the helicity formalism. The predictions of a coupled-channel relativistic model are discussed for nucleon levels in the first four resonance regions. These predictions serve to indicate important questions concerning the structure of the nucleon, and consideration is given as to how these questions may be answered by means of coincidence experiments.
