Abstract
IN the course of the last few years, over 300,000 liver biopsies have probably been performed in all countries by the rapid method described in 1958.1 This assessment is necessarily approximate since the published statistics constitute only a fraction of the total number. At any rate, it is now a fact that liver biopsy is no longer confined to specialized centers, but has become an almost routine procedure in liver diagnosis for inpatients and even for outpatients. . . .Keywords
