Abstract
SummaryAfter acute appendicitis, gall‐bladder disease is the common surgical condition seen by the obstetrician. Despite this, the literature on the subject is remarkably sparse.Twenty‐one patients were seen over a 14 year period; their clinical features and treatment have been reviewed, and debatable aspects discussed.Acute pancreatitis is a less common but often more dramatic complication, which may be difficult to diagnose with certainty. Six cases were seen, and their features have been compared with others reported in the literature. Keywords
