Abstract
An abstract is here presented of the writer's investigations since 1935. This research is part of a large project involving the detailed study of the Stillwater Complex being carried out by Peoples, Howland, Sampson, and the writer, which will be prepared for publication during 1939. The investigations of the writer's colleagues started in 1930. It was known in 1935 that the Stillwater Complex was a huge concordant sheet or lopolith which had differentiated by settling of crystals, layer upon layer. This sheet has been turned up on end and bevelled across by erosion. The floor is exposed and approximately 17,000 feet of banded rocks above the floor, but the top of the Complex and roof are covered by Paleozoics.
