An Entomogenous Fungus Observed Attacking Alfalfa Weevil Adults in New YorK

Abstract
An entomogenous fungus, Beauveria bassiana (Balsamo) Vuillemin, was observed attacking laboratory colonies of adult alfalfa weevils, Hypera postica (Gyllennal) in Ithaca, New York. Preliminary infection studies showed the fungus to be acting as an active parasite as well as a saprophyte.
