Abstract
An optical model of the Chou-Yang type has been extended to treat resonance production in high-energy scattering. Dipole form factors have been used for the hadronic matter distribution. Good qualitative agreement with experiment is found for differential elastic and single-excitation cross sections for momentum transfers out to 2-3 .
