Abstract
SUMMARY: C5 is polymorphic in Melanesians and related peoples. The polymorphism is demonstrated by isoelectric focusing and functional detection. Inheritance is autosomal and codominant. Preliminary linkage data suggest that C5 is not close to HLA.Keywords
