Abstract
An investigation of a flow transition in an open channel consisting of a forced hydraulic jump which is controlled by a dentated sill and of a nonuniform flow reach downstream of the sill, is reported. The flow and its boundaries are described by six dimensionless variables. The relationships among the variables are given by graphs based on experimental data. The boundary values for the flow are defined. The investigated flow is compared to a flow transition controlled by a continuous sill. The results are applicable to the design of hydraulic jump stilling basins. Keywords
