Abstract
The properties of symmetry of the crystal lattice of the constituents of a texturized sample as well as the properties of symmetry of the diffraction mechanism or of the sample itself lead as a rule to symmetries of the pole figures higher than the symmetries of the orientation distribution function (ODF). This is connected with a loss of information on the ODF in pole figures. Reproducing the ODF from pole figures “ghost phenomena” may appear which can be correctable or not. The loss of information and the character of the ghosts are analysed for all possible crystal structures.Keywords
