Abstract
Summary: Response to individual antigenic components of Listeria monocytogenes varies with the stage of immunization. In the response to labile antigens, antibodies a, b, and d appeared early in the immunization period. Antibody a showed a tendency to decrease toward the end of the period. Antibody c was slow in appearing but developed rapidly in the latter half of the period. The response to stable antigens was more irregular. In two serums, antibody iii was very low in the early part of the immunization period, but somewhat later reached a titer as high as or higher than the major antibodies, which were decreasing. It is suggested that repeated analyses during the course of immunization are desirable to obtain complete expression of all antigenic components.
