Abstract
A method of asexual reproduction previously unrecorded is characteristic of Obelia articulata and O. geniculata, but not O. longissima, when water temps. markedly exceed 20 C. Presumptive gonangial outgrowths fail to differentiate as such, but continue a massive growth, culminating in congested terminals that constrict off and become liberated. These are produced in large numbers and settle elsewhere, readily developing into small colonies. Keywords
