Estimates of charm production in exclusive neutrino reactions

We present calculations of the cross sections for two types of exclusive charm-production reactions: the quasielastic processes $\nu N\to {\mu }^{-}(C_0, C_1, {C_1}^{*})$ and the single-pseudoscalar-meson production processes $\nu N\to {\mu }^{-}K(C_0, C_1)$ and $\overline{\nu }N\to {\mu }^{+}\overline{D}(\Lambda , \Sigma )$. With a set of reasonable assumptions we find that the ratio of the cross section for these exclusive channels to the inclusive noncharm cross section is ∼4% for neutrinos and ∼3% for antineutrinos.
