Abstract
Starting with the magnetic field of an arrangement of magnetic monopoles on a line an appropriate unit isovector and gauge fields are constructed. Examples of monopoles connected by topological lines are found where the total pole strength must be integral but the individual monopoles need not be integers. Keywords
