Abstract
A new tunable‐wavelength, single transverse and longitudinal mode, Nd3+ glass Q‐switching laser is described. Single‐longitudinal‐mode operation is achieved by using saturable absorber Q switching and intracavity resonators. Tunability is achieved over a 50‐Å range by means of a birefringent filter, consisting of a single calcite plate and a polarizer. The energy is about 25 mJ, obtained in a 17‐ns pulse. This publication has 10 references indexed in Scilit:
