Abstract
We report on optical‐radio‐frequency double resonance and zero magnetic field level crossing and level anticrossing experiments with selective optical excitation of single fine structure levels of NO2 under molecular beam conditions. The experiments reveal novel properties of the excited state molecule: a characteristic dependence of the Landé g factor on the rotational quantum number Ka and a new fluorescence depolarization effect not present in atoms and diatomic molecules. We discuss these results. Keywords
