Abstract
Spondylo-epiphyseal dysplasia tarda is a hereditary chondrodysplasia which appears in adolescence or adult life as premature osteoarthritis of the spine or of major joints of the extremities. It appears to be the mild form of the same abnormality present in Morquio's disease. The characteristic findings are universal vertebra plana in the spine and flattening and irregularity of the articular surfaces of the major points. More cases will be uncovered by carefully examining the skeleton in all patients with premature osteoarthritis. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
