Abstract
Using the recent results of Rosen (1961), the authors have obtained an expression for the nonlinear current density in a slightly ionized plasma due to an electric held E = E1 exp (iωt) + E3 exp (3iωt). This expression has been substituted in the wave equation and the resulting nonlinear differential equations have been solved by the method of successive approximations, to obtain an explicit expression for the growth of the third harmonic of an electromagnetic wave in a plasma.Keywords
