Abstract
Synopsis: The average number of chloroplasts per guard cell was 11.8 ± 0.11 for tetraploid and 6.6 ± 0.11 for diploid inbred lines of sugar beets. These results indicated that diploids and tetraploids could be rapidly and accurately separated by counting chloroplasts in the guard cells. Keywords
